Quality Assurance
Our unbeatable Industrial Gate Valves have been approved and certified by the Department of Defence Production of quality assurance (DGQA), LRS, IRS, DNV, ABS, MMD, etc. Our company is independently assessed to Indian Navy, IRS, EFS, WP by NABL Lab. Our Registration No. with Navy is SS/DP/GDE-II-0210(J). We have a policy of full cast traceability on all works, which means that the unique number allocated to a particular cast of material in our foundry is hard stamped onto the cast billets of slabs. This identity is maintained throughout all processing operations and is marked on the finished goods.
For non destructive tests, we have a number of in-house operators qualifies by spectrum analysis, which allows prompt ultrasonic and liquid penetration inspection or by hydraulic test. Our well-known procedure has been approved by many of our customers including Indian Navy. When these tests are conducted, certificates are routinely issued without charging extra cost. Our own extensive test house is used to perform mechanical tests on our products. All samples for mechanical tests are extracted from the finished item i.e. they are not separately processed. This means that the mechanical test results reported on the final certificates are the actual properties of components being delivered.

The Foundry
The foundry has always been at the core of our business, since this is the starting point for what can be a complex and lengthy production route. The production of high quality billet, slab & machinery parts/equipments at the start of the production route is key to success.
Every single non ferrous casting is sampled and analysed chemically prior to casting and corrections to the analysis are then made. This is repeated as necessary until the exact chemical make-up that we have specified has been met. We are not simply trying to meet the limits in the material specification ordered; we control the analysis of both alloying and impurity elements, to much fighter bands and upper limits, to achieve the necessary hot working characteristics and final mechanical properties. Temperature of metal and mould is controlled as is hydrogen gas levels which have to be well below the limit of solid solubility. When all is acceptable we cast.
Freedom from reliance on external suppliers allows total control over production activities and quality, offering the customer the benefits of guaranteed quality and assured production schedules.
Engineering Division
Our machine shop is sufficiently versatile to produce components in volume, small batches, or as one-offs. As engineers serving large and small companies, we understand the importance of prototypes and trial runs and so all orders are given equal importance, irrespective of size.
Conversion
The activity is the induction of a wrought structure in our cast thermo-mechanical working. We can after forging, manipulate the final microstructure and mechanical properties through heat treatment. All our products are wrought and are vastly superior to cast products. They are characterized as having:
- Higher strength and impact toughness
- Greater soundness and integrity
- Fine grain structure leading to better corrosion performance
- Fine grain structure allowing detailed ultrasonic inspection rather than expensive radiography
- Grain flow giving directional properties that can be used by designers to their advantage.
